Privacy Policy
Effective July 7, 2026
The short version
Cineslate collects nothing about you. Your library stays on your device.
Your library
Titles you mark as Watching, Upcoming, Watchlist, or History, along with your settings, are stored locally on your device. We have no servers, so your library never leaves it.
External services (optional)
Cineslate is read-only against services you choose to use:
- TMDB — posters, cast, and trending metadata. Only public movie and show IDs are requested.
- Plex — if you connect it, Cineslate uses your Plex token to list and stream titles from your own media server. The token is kept in the device Keychain and sent only to Plex.
- OpenSubtitles — if you connect it, subtitle searches are sent for the title you're playing. Nothing else.
These services have their own privacy policies. Cineslate sends them no personal data beyond what each request requires.
What we don't do
No accounts. No analytics. No ads. No third-party trackers. No tracking of any kind.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted here with a new effective date.
